I'm blogging my way through The Emotion Thesaurus: A Writer's Guide to Character Expression by Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi. If you are a writer and you're not familiar with the book, you should check it out.
It gives an emotion (for example: anger), states the definition, tells you a brief list of physical signals, internal sensations, mental responses, cues of acute or long-term effects of the emotion, and then cues of the suppressed emotion. Along with all this information, you get writer's tips at the end of each emotion.
Since writing has a lot to do with character emotion, this book helps you explore a whole host of emotions besides just happy and mad. It has been fun to take experiences from my life and blog through the emotions. Here's a list, the emotion and the link to each blog so far. Mind you, there are a lot more emotions to go.
